Congratulations to Morgan from Mrs. Derringer’s class for being named our Little Brave of the Month! Morgan does a great job each day showing what it means to be a BES Brave. Morgan works hard, listens, follows directions, and is always willing to do the right thing. Morgan is kind to classmates, respectful to teachers, and sets a great example for others in the classroom. We are proud of the effort and positive attitude Morgan brings to school each day. Read Across America at BES At Brownstown Elementary, we celebrated Read Across America and the importance of reading with our students. It was a great day filled with books, stories, and conversations that remind us how powerful reading can be for our kids. Building a love for reading at an early age is important, and it is something we focus on every day at BES. When students enjoy reading, they grow in confidence and open the door to learning in every subject. Thank you to our teachers and staff for making reading exciting and meaningful for our students. Brownstown Elementary is proud to recognize Henry from Mrs. Shelton’s 3rd grade class as our WJAA Student of the Week! Henry does a great job representing what it means to be a BES Brave. He comes to school ready to learn, works hard in the classroom, and treats others with kindness and respect. Henry continues to put in great effort each day and shows the kind of attitude we love to see at BES. We are proud of you, Henry! Keep working hard and showing that Brave Pride!

Even with some sickness hitting us this week, our BES Braves showed up and gave great effort. When our students are here, they are learning, growing, and living out the Brave Way. Attendance matters, and we appreciate our families doing their best during a week when a few bugs were going around.

Today we celebrated Mrs. McClure for being named the Jackson County Chamber Elementary Teacher of the Year AND for her birthday! Talk about a double celebration! Mrs. McClure represents what the BES Brave Way is all about. She works hard, builds strong relationships, holds high expectations, and pours her heart into her students each and every day. This recognition is well deserved, and we are so proud to call her one of our own. Happy Birthday and Congratulations, Mrs. McClure! BES is blessed to have you leading and loving our kids the way you do.

Dr. Seuss Week at Brownstown Elementary!

BES will be celebrating Dr. Seuss Week as we promote a love of reading and continue building strong literacy skills in our students!

Throughout the week, students will participate in fun spirit days, classroom reading activities, and special literacy celebrations that remind us why reading matters. At BES, we know that when students grow as readers, they grow in confidence, curiosity, and character.

State Bound! Congratulations to Eli Hiten for individually qualifying for the State Archery Competition! Your hard work, focus, and determination have paid off. We are proud of you and the way you represent BES.

Huge congratulations to Mrs. Anderson for being named a Literacy Champion at the Road to the Final Four- NCAA Fan Jam! What an incredible honor and so well deserved. Mrs. Anderson pours her heart into literacy every single day at BES. She believes in our kids, she believes in the power of reading, and she works tirelessly to make sure students grow in confidence and skill. Whether it is building strong foundational skills, encouraging a love for books, or supporting her teammates with strategies and resources, she leads the way. Her impact goes far beyond one event or one classroom. She is helping shape readers, thinkers, and leaders. That is Brave Way work right there. We are so proud of you, Mrs. Anderson. Thank you for working hard, being nice, and showing our students what it means to believe in themselves. BES is better because of you.
