Welcome to Reading Recovery
![]()
Hello! This is my 7th year as a first grade Reading Recovery teacher. I love teaching reading partially because I love to read, but mainly because being a good reader is essential to a student’s success in every other school subject. I love seeing a student gain confidence and become a reader by learning strategies and practicing reading every night at home. We will be reading and writing during individually planned, daily, 30 minute lessons. The books are interesting and fun, and the writing is the student’s own words. The goal is to be reading at the average of the child’s class by the end of his/her program (12-20 weeks). Please contact me—email, phone, or by note any time you have a question or comment.
